Mother's pride

My boy's growing up. He's sneaking through the flat, making small noises and sticking his bum in the air. I'm feeling a bit torn, but I know I don't really have much of a choice: it won't be long before he's going for the snip. It seems such a shame, though; he's such a gorgeous tom, big and white and beautiful, that I wish I could let him keep his wedding tackle intact just in case one day a nice young female of the species shows up at our front door. It could happen! Pity they don't freeze cat sperm...
Maybe I shouldn't delay the inevitable much longer and book him an appointment right away...

I'll say this for this prolonged rest of mine: it's given me a chance to bond with Manasse. He's been living with me for 6 months now, but I've left it largely to my other cats (notably Leila) to bring him up. Consequently, Manasse rarely took any notice of me prior to my accident, was only interested in playing nice when there was a tin to be opened -- but I think we've turned a corner. He's gotten into the habit of lying down next to me on the couch, and last night, he decided to curl up in my lap for the very first time ever. The look he gave me told me I wasn't to make anything out of it, but...I can't help it. I ::heart:: my moggie.

I'll swap your moggie for my littlie. the cold is playing havoc with his exercise routine.

I'll not swap my moggie for anything -- but your littlie is welcome to come and stay if you like! Don't know what the cats will make of this strange creature though...they've never seen a dog before!

Many years ago when I was still living with my parents I got a kitten when my mother was recouperating from knee surgery. The kitten didn't bond much with me but instead clung to my mother and kept her company. I think maybe he sensed she was in pain and wanted to comfort her. He then ceased to be my cat and became hers! He's still with her and gets worried and clingy when she isn't feeling well. He's such a good little nurse cat!

Cats are like that: fickle. And caring.

My mum's cat's balls were so cute, it was a shame to snip them off.

My feelings, exactly. I like his rearview, it makes me swell with a strange sort of pride to see my boy so packed!
