Bleuhhhh

I've just had a serious talk with my minion, Samir. Basically, I had to tell him that he needs to pull his socks up and soon, or I'm going to have to let him go.

He's a nice enough guy, always willing to get me coffee or water my plant- but three months into the job and he's still struggling with the basics, so much so that I've actually had to take tasks away from him before today because he was getting hopelessly muddled and making a mess of things. What's the point in having minions if they only add to your workload?

I really hate having to have these conversations, though...

Yeah, don't you just hate having to have those discussions? I remember having to talk to someone I was supervising along the same line. It's not a nice thing to have to do :-(

But on a positive note for you, G, I am tracking the information about next year's MR convention. The tickets will cost $190 for the basic ticket, and there will be the opportunity for adding on a ticket for a cocktail party with the guests (and I BET James will be a guest again *doing a happy dance*), and photo shoots as well. Aria, one of the co-chairs of the con, just sent me a nice e-mail in response to one I sent her right after the con, and she is really positive about next year's event. She told me to stay in touch, which of course I will. She's the one who delivered my letter to James :-) She's a real sweetie. So start saving your money, and just as SOON as I know when and where it will be, you and Cass will hear from me, so we can plan it out, purchase our tickets so we can sit together, get a room together... well, you get the picture! (Can you tell that I am VERY excited about the prospect of the two of you coming for it?!)

I think I'm beginning to get an inkling ;-)! I'm game if you are, but we still have to rope Cass in -- oh, why does she have to be away and incommunicado just now?!

Re: plans
I know - but she'll be home tomorrow, so we should send her a "welcome home" e-mail, and give her a clue about our discussion.

In case I don't get to say it later, have a great weekend. We'll be away again for the weekend - this time it's a music festival, which gets me primed for next week's music camp vacation.

Re: have a great one!
Sounds like you'll be busy doing fun stuff this weekend. Be sure to tell us all about it Monday!

How's the re-write coming along? Got anything to show us?
