That's all I need!

Rain, grey skies (no brollie), tired (stayed up too late cuz I just had to finish herself_nyc's excellent 'Disenchantment'), network and e-mail problems, work coming up to my ears and now the final word from Samir, to say he's thought it over and he won't be coming back. Pity, I liked him. He was just floundering, is all...

Meanwhile, the orgchart's a complete joke.

Tea and sympathy
Or coffee if you prefer.

Bad day, huh? Poor you. No matter. Almost over. And wasn't Disenchantment worth the late night? Herself writes such wonderful stuff - so clever, so well written, so imaginative - she writes a lovely Spike and a great Buffy (so much better than the 'real thing') - and so....um...hot!

Sorry to hear about Samir. Probably for the best all round though. I'm sure he'll find something he's more suited to, and maybe your new minion will be more helpful - not a lot of use in a minion who doesn't actually ease your workload.

As for the orgchart (sounds like something small, hairy and possibly vicious from LOTR ) - give it a good talking too and refuse it any supper until it gets serious. Bound to work.

Keep smiling, hon.

Re: Tea and sympathy
Tea! Now why didn't I think of that? Lot less calories in tea than in the Cadbury's bar I eventually found solace in...

Already over Samir's defection, though. His leaving's for the best really. He wasn't happy and I certainly wasn't reaping the benefits of having him affixed to my coattails\apron strings\cost location. It's a new day baby, and I'm going to meet it with a smile on my face and an eye out for any new and lovely fic to read during my lunchbreak!

Re: Tea and sympathy
Glad to hear that you are okay about Samir leaving. You'll get some new minions soon, I'm sure, with your new responsibilities.

Speaking of "new and lovely" fanfic, have you been reading any of Pattyanne's stories on the Gutter? The woman writes hot smut very well, while keeping it in a plausible storyline IMHO. I'm currently reading her "Caught Between Two Lovers" story. Spike with a young Buffy, without Angel ever having appeared. And I see that Annie will be adding on to "Nineteen Hours" sometime fairly soon. Plus Herself doing a sequel to "Disenchantment" - excellent, excellent news. I really enjoyed that one!

so much fic, so little time!
have you been reading Pattyanne's stories

I haven't had a chance to visit the Gutter much lately, haven't even had a chance to read my e-mail - so no. But thanks for the tip, and I'll add Caught Between Two Lovers to the ever-growing pile.

With Wimbledon completely taking over BBC1 last night (thank you, Tim Henman), I finally got a chance to get started on Dancing Lessons without interruptions...that series of fics has been on my To Do-list for ages, but the sheer volume of it's put me off for the longest time.

nautibitz has updated the Crash & Burn series , oh! and I meant to check if Echidna's added to A Touch of Jealousy already...

Your day
Oh no, hope you find someone better soon to help ease your workload, Gamiila. Your day sounds stressful, as is mine (I'll be writing performance reviews all afternoon, ugh).
And yes, herself_nyc's new story is so *wonderful* -- I've read it twice already :-)

Re: Your day
Thank you for the hugs, Tia; I needed them. Not feeling half as sorry for myself as before - handing in his notice was probably the best thing Samir could have done both for himself AND the company in the long run, and I'm sure I'll be able to hold the fort until such time as I can find someone who won't need so much supervision. Two someones in fact, so things are bound to improve in a little while.

Which is why it's made me deliriously happy to hear she's already started on a sequel!
