HAPPY BIRTHDAY, vegmb!

(One day, I'll look up the code for colours for these b'day wishes)

Our company doctor took one look at my ankle and decided it needed more care and attention -- so now I'm going to have the company physiotherapist try and work his healing powers, at the office, in the boss's time, and paid for by the company -- nice work, don't you think?

Not much else to report, other than that I've been wrestling with an idea for another drabble/ficlet. Current word count: stuck at 37. 39, if I count 'The End'...Aaaarrrgggh!!! Why can't I do this? My friends all make it look so easy...

Why can't I do this?

You haven't been through enough sleepless nights yet.

Good news on the physiotherapist. I took my ankile to the sports injury physio who works wonders with his magic tingly machine.

Oh God! Not the magic tingly machine! I hate that thing. I'm always in twice as much pain when I get off it, and it's a constant discomfort all through the day. But they assure me it's a necessary evil, and will do me good in the long run.

It jiggles all the knotty fatty molecules that are gathered around the muscles and breaks them down.

Apparently.

Take a notepad to bed. My best ideas always hit me in the middle of the night. And then I forget them. The notepad is my nightime friend.

But Twelve Days is my swan song. I shall write no more.

Oh, yeah? You think you'll get away that easily?

Good! Lots of free, in work-time care for the poorly ankle! Should see you fit for the next time you hurl yourself at a certain guitar-playing singer. ;)

If I can help with the drabble...

If I can help with the drabble...

Thanks, love -- much appreciated. But I think I'll tinker with it some more on my own this morning...Of course, I had to be getting ready for bed and brushing my teeth when the opening scene suddenly revealed itself to me, and I wrote it down on a tissue. Now I just have to link the beginning and the end somehow, and leave it alone for a bit.

When the muse strikes, she has no sense of time or place.

Very much look forward to reading it!

Good news!

Do some describin', always works for me when my word count is short.

Yeah, I know. Tried that, but then a) I'm not very good at describing; and b) I soon end up with more words than I need.

You see -- I'm aiming for a drabble here. 100 Words. My earlier attempts, although I called them drabbles because I knew no better at the time, used far more.

100 Words, is all I want. (And would you count there's as 1 word or 2? How about mother of pearl?)
