An uneventful day or two

There are two kinds of ordinary days in which nothing much happens at all. There are those in which, however little strikes you as worthy of comment, you can find something to write about; and those that you can't. I'm currently going through some of the latter. Which is why I'll resort to the posting of a meme I gacked from captainofidiots:

1. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
Blue Moon Revisited (Song for Elvis), by the Cowboy Junkies

2. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?
Chicken & Dijon mustard focaccia, and an apple.

3. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?
Possibly, the purple one...or alternatively, the orange.

4. WEATHER RIGHT NOW?
Gusty winds, and raining.

5. LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE?
A lady trying to sell me insurance.

6. WHAT ARE YOU DOING RIGHT NOW?
Well, filling this out. Duh.

7. HOW ARE YOU TODAY?
Kind of blah...but alright, really.

8. FAVORITE DRINK?
Coffee.

9. FAVORITE SPORT?
Fencing. Or riding.

10. HAIR COLOR?
Natural? Brown. What colour it's been for the last year? Nutrisse Garnier's 'Mûre Sauvage', i.e. the deepest, darkest red you can find, almost black.

11. EYE COLOR?
Brown.

12. U WEAR CONTACTS?
Yes, gas-permeable ones.

13. SIBLING NAMES AND THEIR AGES:
Monique - she's 15 months my junior.

14. FAVORITE FOOD?
Seafood - especially scallops, oysters, lobster, and crab.

15. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED?
Last movie I watched in the cinema? Wimbledon: I don't remember all that much about it, except for the fact that Paul Bettany, sans Russell Crowe, is quite easy on the eyes.
Last movie I watched as download from the Internet: Cold Mountain: well-made, good acting (esp. from Renée Zellweger), tearjerker at the end.
Last movie I saw on TV: Bend It Like Beckham: sheer delight. Juliet Stevenson's hysterical.

16. FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR?
New Year's Eve, I suppose -- you get to leave work early and there's champagne and fireworks at night.

17. ARE YOU TOO SHY TO ASK SOMEONE OUT?
I don't think the idea's ever occured to me....

18. SUMMER OR WINTER?
Summer.

19. CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA?
Chocolate.

20. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE BOOK?
Oh dear. There are many books I love and will read and re-read ad infinitum: The Lord of the Rings, or Brideshead Revisited, or The Memoirs of Hadrian, or Captain Corelli's Mandolin, or Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, or...

21. WHO IS MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
To what?

22. LEAST LIKELY?
To this?

23. LIVING ARRANGEMENTS?
Me, Leila (Cat No. 1), Clio (Cat No.2), Manasse (cat who thinks he should be Cat No. 2 if he can't be Cat No. 1)

24. WHAT'S ON YOUR MOUSE PAD?
At home, Spike. At work, the company logo.

25. FAVORITE BOARD GAME?
Scrabble. Monopoly. Mens-erger-je-niet. Ganzebord.

26. WHAT DID YOU DO LAST NIGHT?
Nothing much: had dinner, fed the cats, watched Bend It Like Beckham on TV, read a bit, went to bed.

27. FAVORITE SMELLS?
My Mum's face powder. Incense. Certain perfumes. Coffee & cardamom. Cinnamon sticks. The sea. Rain. Crispy bacon. Freshly baked bread. Clean laundry. Fresh cut grass. Lemon. Etc. etc.

28. CAN YOU TOUCH YOUR NOSE WITH YOUR TONGUE?
Nope...nor do I wish I could.

29. BUTTERED, PLAIN, OR SALTED POPCORN?
Salted, I suppose -- but popcorn means little or nothing to me.

30. FAVORITE CAR?
Citroën DS.

31. FAVORITE FLOWER?
Daffodils, Persian buttercups, and sunflowers

32. HOW MANY KEYS ON YOUR KEY RING?
11.

34. 7-UP OR SPRITE?
Both are equally barf-worthy in my opinion.

35. COFFEE?
Yes, please. I usually take it black, no sugar; but I did develop a taste for Starbuck's Caramel Macchiato over in the States last year.

36. WHO IS YOUR TRUE LOVE?
I don't know. I haven't met him yet. Thought I had a couple of times, but...no.

37. FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME?
There are many bands (and artists) I like. Some I have liked for bloody ages. I don't know if any is my favourite of all time, though.

38. DOGS?
I'm not a dog person. That is to say, I like individual dogs well enough, but I never want to own a dog.

39. DO YOU FLOSS?
Once in a while. Usually when I've got a dentist's appointment coming up.

40. BITE YOUR NAILS?
Nope.

41. PET PEEVES?
People who hog the whole pavement with their fat arses and tons of groceries, strolling when I just want to pass! Loud tinny music from Walkmans and/or personal CD-players on public transport.

42. FAVORITE TV SHOWS?
Used to be BtVS and, for all of S5, AtS. Now, I don't have a favourite TV show.

43. WHAT IS YOUR MIDDLE NAME?
Procrastination. No, I'm a liar: it's Martine.

44. FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT OPPOSITE SEX?
Eyes and smile, usually. Depends on if they are wearing clothes or not.

45. WHAT KIND OF GUYS/GIRLS DO YOU LIKE?
The kind that's cheerful, kind, empathetic, full of humour, but with real depth and a broad range of interests. Extravert.

46. FAVORITE DRESS CODE?
For me? Boots. I tend to dress from the feet up.

47. DO YOU SLEEP WITH STUFFED ANIMALS?
No.

48. FUTURE CHILD'S NAME?
Boy: Manasse, but I've given it to the cat now...
Girl: Isabelle Iphigenia (Belle for short)

49. IF YOU COULD MEET ONE PERSON DEAD OR ALIVE?
Dead: Jesus Christ
Alive: I honestly can't think of anyone in particular...the Dalai Lama, maybe?

50. WHAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING?
Finding happiness within yourself, and not looking for others to complete you.

I've had a consultation with the company physiotherapist; he wants to see me twice a week and has given me a list of exercises to do in order to strengthen and improve the movement in my ankle. He wants me to repeat these exercises every 8 hours, i.e. "at least twice a day", he said. Slave driver!
