At this point, my Outlook is somewhat stagnant

Despite having followed AVG's instructions as to how to proceed in the event the software causes the e-mail client to stop sending and receiving e-mails to the letter, I have been unable to restore my Outlook Express to its former glory. I have now removed the virus checker and rebooted, but it still won't work. I don't know what to do next. Remove ZoneAlarm as well? Take off and reinstall everything? Is it worth it? I don't know. I can access my inbox through webmail -- maybe I should just count my blessings and stop tinkering...but I don't know if I can. I've never been very good at just leaving things. If, after this, you'll not hear from me again, you'll know I've completely messed up my system and driven myself off a tall cliff somewhere.

::sigh::

Oh, and I didn't feel like going to work today, so I didn't.
