Couch potato

There was nothing on the TV as usual...the 20th anniversary episode of EastEnders was as dull as dishwater, even though it got rid of not one, but two would-be gangsters. One got pushed into oncoming traffic on the motorway, and the other got his head bashed in with a door stop. And I just sat there watching it, not even trying to stifle my yawns.

I was mildly interested though, in the news that from the first week of March, a Dutch channel is going to broadcast Lost, which judging from the trailer seems to be about a plane crash, and Desperate Housewives, of which I've heard my flist talk so much in recent weeks. I don't know, it might be good -- I am so in need of a good show to watch now that there's no more AtS.

Meanwhile, some of my NYC acquaintances should be about getting ready for the CoRo gig tonight. Oh, how I wish I were there with them right now!

Oh God, what legendary place was it tonight? Was it any good? Did you learn anything new?

It was Jason and the Argonaunts. I learned lots (because it's not a story I'm that familiar with). Istanbul was in it.

Oh, so you've had a sneak preview of where you'll end up this autumn? Cool!

It isn't a complete mystery. I did watch Byzantium!

Yeah well, the place looked different when it was Byzantium. For one thing, the horses on top of San Marco in Venice were still perched atop their pillar in the Hippodrome. But as that old song my mother used to sing goes: now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople...

It's quite dusty, you know. You go to the hamam after traipsing through town, you won't believe how much dirt they'll scrape off your skin.

I can cope with that. I've been to Glastonbury.
