Born in the USA

Well -- it would seem that kerfuffles aren't exclusive to the Buffy-fandom. It looks like one has broken out over on the CoRo forum, usually one of the more laid-back places on the internet. Apparently, some fans have taken umbrage at Adam's remark, made at Friday's Bitter End gig, that he's "ashamed to be an American" in this day and age. They're suggesting he should thank his lucky stars he doesn't live in North Korea where to express a similar opinion would get him locked up, and that he's being 'ungrateful' when he says it in the USA.

First of all: what's North Korea got to do with the price of fish?

And secondly: isn't it ironic that those who pride themselves on living in a free country, will only advocate the right to free speech on condition everyone think and say exactly what is pleasing or comfortable to them?

I listened to a radio programme about one of the first tourist trips to North Korea yesterday! Funnily enough, if he did move to North Korea and said he was ashamed to be an American they'd probably throw a parade for him!!!

I know that isn't what they meant, but sometimes what people say is even stupider than what they meant!

PS - Here is a nice picture of Spike to brighten your evening.

Thanks -- but at the moment, I'm far more fascinated by pictures of a bearded Eric!
