Plan of Action

Crap! I missed Desperate Housewives last night! Oh well. I guess being stressed out of your skull will do that to a person, make you forget the really important things in life.

Still, I'm not feeling as awful as I did yesterday, despite not having slept a wink again. I had a really good talk with the therapist this morning, and she's given me a lot to think about. A meeting has been convened for Monday afternoon -- one that Jobsworth simply has to show up for, as HR is involved in it this time as well. It's going to be him, an HR consultant, Tinny (the trick cyclist) and me around that table; and she and I are going to push for my transfer to another department again. There are several possibilities, and I may even end up going to work at our other location, Utrecht, for however long it'll take me to find a job nearer to home.

I went home by way of Schiphol, where I very nearly purchased

until I noticed that they were only silver-plated brass. Darn! I hate being allergic to base metals. Especially now that I've fallen in love with the whole Dyrberg/Kern collection...

If so many people are allergic to base metals (I think I am too), why on earth do they persist in using them for earrings?

Hope that meeting goes well.

Profit. There's still an awful lot more people who are not allergic, and they'll pay through their nose for silver plate.

Hope that meeting goes well.

Me, too.

Wow, I love those. I, too, am allergic to base metals and so choose to accessorize with shoes and hats. (I am also allergic to silver, much to my displeasure b/c I love the way it looks and end up buying all kinds of prettys for my sister who can wear it.)

Oh, and glad your talk went well with the therapist.

Wow, I love those.

Aren't they pretty? I'm consoling myself with the thought that if I had bought them, I probably would have lost one of them before the week was out (I'm always losing earrings).

The ancient Egyptians prized silver more than gold, did you know? Probably because it wasn't found in their territories.

No, I didn't know, but it makes sense. I prize gold more than silver b/c I can wear it, and platinum most of all b/c it looks like silve and I can wear it. (And those are the only two metals I have ever been able to wear, so my jewelry collection is rather small.)

I like platinum for the same reason; but I guess I'm luckier than you in that I can wear certain kinds of silver (the silver content has to be really high, though -- unfortunately, it's never very strong). Also, I like white gold better than yellow, and electrum better than white gold!

You could always make a necklace out of them.

Yes, I could, couldn't I? Wonder where I left them...

BTW, the male model in that picture looks a lot like Cliff Simon. http://database.stargate-sg1.hu/images.php?address=baal&mod=karakter

Ooh, yes, he does! That Cliff Simon, is he a villain? If not, he should be!

He's quite evil. He wants to take over Earth and enslave all the humans so that they worship him as a god.

Baltar? He's Baltar? Well, he's improved!

No he's Baal.

Sorry, perhaps I need to qualify that more. He is Baal on Stargate SG-1.

He is my offical Favorite Villan currently.

And in case you don't know, in the SG-1 world, many of the ancient gods form different cultures turn up as aliens (either good or bad) that have been alive since those ancient times. (Ra, Thor, Osiris, etc.)

I saw the film once -- I liked the take it showed on Ra. And that flying pyramid!

The series expands that take on Ra. Instead of there only being one of his race, there is a whole group of them, Baal is one.

And that flying pyramid!
Who doesn't love a flying pyramid! Now, if I can just remember where I parked mine...

I'll still stand by my earlier assessment: he's improved!

The old Baltar was a fat grey-haired old geezer.

Yes, well I'm sure the hot new blond chic version of Starbuck wouldn't be considering having sex with a fat grey-haired old geezer. I was trying to stay unspoiled for the new series, but accidently read something about them getting together in an upcoming episode and her calling out Lee's name instead...

Nah, still can't get my head round that whole sex change thing...The Starbuck I knew and loved would never have had sex with Baltar -- or would he? Hee! I'm getting slashy thoughts! ;-D

And who could blame him?

Though, to be honest, there was</> something going on between him and Apollo. Sure, they said they were just good friends, but...I don't know. There were these little looks.

And who could blame him? Not I. (Except that the new Baltar seems to be totally insane...but that is not always a bad thing.)

I've heard about the looks and the something not mentioned between those two. I was too young when watching the original to pick up on such things. (I was such an innocent little thing. [laughs] My how times have changed!)
