Years on, and he's happier than he ever thought he would be. He may no longer have two brown eyes, but he's got his health, his friends, the love of a good woman, and his business...his booming business. He's done pretty well for himself, and he's quite content with how his life has turned out.

But sometimes, when he takes out his wallet to pay a supplier, he'll stop and stare at the crisp dollar bills, and remember. Anya...And he wonders if he did the right thing, leaving her.

Years on, and he still doesn't know the answer.

That is so absolutely Xander. But he shouldn't need to wonder - he should KNOW it was the stupidest thing to do!

Except where it comes to vampires and what to do with them, I see Xander as a bit of a ditherer. Deep down, his old insecurities never let him be sure of anything...not even of his love for Anya.
