Better days (pic spam)

I definitely seem to have injured the Achilles tendon in my right leg somehow, which makes walking quite a challenge -- esp. since I still have the weakness in my left ankle to consider. It also takes away some of the pleasure involved in wearing my new boots, because everyone automatically assumes that I'm limping because they're pinching me...and they're NOT! Poor boots, being falsely accused...

Anyway, still busy clearing out my e-mail archive. Which is like a voyage of re-discovery, as I'd forgotten so many of my colleagues like to try out their new digital cameras in the office. Here are several incarnations of me feeling comfortable in my work environment:

I look at these pics, and at some of my former colleagues, and a wave of nostalgia hits.

I really should have left long ago.

Coo! Look at you with the short hair! And the skirt! It still looks as good!

No more wallowing in the past, though. Time to sort out that brighter future.

Won't get yourself a nice job with that attitude.

Oh, I think I can summon a burst of energy when I need it. I've just been looking at several (government) sites, see what's available in my hometown at the moment (The Hague, being the diplomatic capital of The Netherlands, is home to all the government departments you can think of, as well as most of the non-profit NGOs and charities and such)...but I'm not hopeful. Damn this economic slump! I would have had no problem finding something 2 years ago...but of course, 2 years ago, I didn't report to Jobsworth.

Keep trying.

No choice, really...

But it's more than that. I actually want to move, try my hand at something new.

It's a start.

Love the 2000 skirt (and the boots)! Good luck with the job hunt.

Muy hippie hippie crochet skirt with tasselled hem? That's still very much alive, as calove and hils can avow. I wore it to CoRo's Milton Keynes gig last year.

The boots, which I bought in Pied A Terre in London for £269 in 1997, sadly, have been languishing in a plastic bag for the last two years. I need to take them to be repaired; 6 minutes into the new year (2003), the heel on one snapped off as I was hurrying down the stairs to watch the fireworks, and I broke my toe in the process.
