2. Where were your parents born: my father was born in Rotterdam; my mother in Batavia (which was renamed Jakarta after Indonesia became independent)

4. What's your favourite restaurant: I have several favourites, one of which is Simpson's- in-the-Strand, simply because it's so quaint (and of course, the food's lovely)

7. How many kids do you want: the question is irrelevant to my situation
8. Type of music you dislike most: that would be country & western; specifically, the c&w my mum has been playing every day since before I was born: Hank Williams, Slim Whitman, Marvin Rainwater. Apart from that, Barry Manilow
9. Are you registered to vote: ah -- it works kind of differently here. From age 18, every Dutch national has the right to vote, and gets called to automatically whenever there is any kind of election. We do not register for it

11. Have you ever ridden on a moped: nope, and I don't consider that I've missed anything
12. Ever prank call anybody: oh yes
13. Ever get a parking ticket: no, but I got a speeding ticket once

Never been there muself, but my dad was a chef there (in the 1970's).

What? Your dad was a chef at Simpson's? That's wonderful! Too bad I only discovered it in the 90s...I should take you to lunch there sometime!

Well -- everywhere, really. You come into my flat, there's shoeboxes stacked up along the walls, and in the space under my bed, and in several cupboards...plus, I have a cellar downstairs.

Mmmm yes. I think he was only a junior type chef though.
