Bread and butter

I was running a bit late this morning, as I'd gone to see the doctor (and you'll be pleased to know, curiouswombat, that he did order the blood tests to be done -- while I'm pleased to know that soon, I'll be resuming my flirtation with Menno the cute physiotherapist); and rushed, I had no time for breakfast. When I got to the airport (the halfway point), I was entirely ravenous, so I got a sandwich on the go. It was only when I took my first bite, while hobbling to catch the bus, that I realised I'd paid 5,60 euros for it! That's ƒ12,32 of our old money! Two years ago, I would NEVER have paid that much for a sandwich, I don't care how many olives they would have piled on.

Honestly, they're having a laugh -- and they can, because two years after the introduction of the euro, I still can't work out what anything is priced at!

Still, it was a delicious sandwich...

I've been a bit under the weather so I'm just catching up - glad you're getting the tests done, although I hope they show you to be in the peak of health! I've just tried to mentally convert the euros into pounds - and yep - expensive sandwich, but it does sound very nice!

Oh do get better soon, CW! There's nothing worse than not feeling 100% when spring is in the air, and everywhere around you! Sending good vibes your way...
