I want my mummy

It seems my luck has run out. Why? Because here I am, in London, and I'm all alone!

I arrived at the hostel at 12:00 noon, where they informed me that a) I wasn't supposed to have arrived until 5pm, and b) that my credit card had been declined and they were just about to cancel my booking. Luckily, I managed to persuade them not to, by paying the amount due now rather than later.

Then, I was off to meet my friends hesadevil, calove and bogwitch at the Bierodrome. I thought I knew where that was, and so I went to the wrong bloody one in Highbury! Belatedly realising my mistake, I set off for the other one in Kingsway...only to find that the place had been emptied due to a fire in the kitchen.

Now, had it been me, waiting for a friend to show, I would have hung around in the vicinity. Not so my mates -- nowhere to be seen. My mobile refused to work, so I tried a public phone booth. It ate the last of my change, and refused to give it back after it refused to work. I bought a packet of crisps and with my 30p change tried another phone booth -- and calove's phone was switched off.

So here I am, in an Internet café in Charing Cross, wondering where the hell they are, and where I'm supposed to be tonight, and at what time. Thank God for Google! I'll have to travel back to Angel, and present myself at the doors of Carling Academy before 7pm -- and hope I find the others there. Right now, I'm not convinced I will.

ETA: calove's phone wasn't switched off. There was obviously some other weird shit going on preventing me from reaching her.

Stupid me -- I wasn't wearing my lucky shoes, was I? But it was alright in the end; I had a wander around and ended up in the National Gallery, and later, met up with my friends at the Carling Academy.
