Whitsun Monday & the weather's grim

I'm bored. I suppose I could get off my backside and do the dishes, but...Anyone up for another round of Guess Where These Lyrics Are From? I'll start us off on:

01. Now try and picture this, as I gave you a kiss
The apple in your mouth slipped in mine

03. Politician Grannie with your high ideals
Have you no idea how the majority feels?
So without love and a promised land
We're fools to the rules of a goverment plan
-- Tears For Fears, Sowing The Seeds Of Love, guessed by anonypooh

04. It doesn't hurt me.
Do you want to feel how it feels?
Do you want to know that it doesn't hurt me?
Do you want to hear about the deal that I'm making?
--Kate Bush, Running Up That Hill, guessed by bogwitch

05. I'm a path of cinders
burning under your feet
you're the one who walks me
I'm your one way street

06. Vor uns liegt ein weites Tal
Die Sonne scheint mit Glitzerstrahl
Die Fahrbahn ist ein graues Band
Weisse Streifen, grüner Rand

It's today that's the day of the plunge

I always loved the night
And now you offer me eternal darkness

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, running
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
Saturday, Sunday

10. You know you laughed.
I HEARD you laugh, you laughed
And laughed and laughed
And then you left

There's a party up there all the time...They'll party till they drop
Other people can go home...other people, they can split
I'll be here all the time...I can never quit

12. And I don't trust you
'Cause every time you're here
Your intentions are unclear

10-They're Coming to Take Me Away (HA HA!)--Dr. Demento
May. 16th, 2005 05:20 pm (UTC)
I'm sure you're right -- that is to say, I've never heard of Dr. Demento, but the song is most definitely They're Coming To Take Me Away. Years ago, it was sung by Napoleon XIV.

Damn!! I got here too late. I actually knew this one:

14. The priests and the friars
Behold me in dread
Because I still love you
My love and you're dead

Lisa and I have started doing this tune as part of our repertoire! Amazing.

Sorry to read of the problems with poor little Leila. Have you taken her to your mum's yet? I hope you and the vet are able to figure out what's going on, and that you'll be able to come to a solution without having to give up either kitty.

Lots of love and hugs to you, sweetie!
May. 21st, 2005 06:44 pm (UTC)
'I Am Stretched On Your Grave' -- such a cheery little tune, don't you think? ;-) But I can see how it would fit in your repertoire; I'd love to hear your take on it one day (maybe when you're in Kent next year?)

I've taken Leila to my Mum's this morning. It didn't take her long to start to get settled, and I know Mum'll take good care of her.
