Fetched my boy home today. He screamed all the way on the way over. Then as soon as he walked in, it was his sisters' turn to scream. And screech. And hiss. And snarl. And try and rip the fur off him.

But he's bigger than either of them.

Right now, one's taken refuge under the bed, and the other's gone back to her usual spot under the sofa.

Anyone want a kitty?

That about sums it up, really...

Tomorrow, I'm locking Manasse and Leila in the toilet. It's a tiny space where they can't hide from each other. I hope that by the time I get home, they'll have called a truce. Or killed each other.

Luckily, Clio already seems to be getting back to normal; she's just gone to get a bite to eat.

Food will overcome most snits.

Too bad that general rule doesn't apply to Leila...she's back on hunger strike. :(

She's a hopeless case.

:(

We could trade, one of yours for say...4 kittens?

My oldest cat is being the unhappy queen at the moment sitting in a basket glaring at everyone or hissing anytime the kitten's mother is in the room. And she turns her back toward my husband and refuses to even look in his direction because she has decided that it is all his fault.

Last night, listening to them brawl, at one point I began to wonder whether I might not just be better off getting rid of my three, and start again from scratch with kittens...

Poor puss. It's difficult dealing with the fact that kittens always steal the limelight.

because she has decided that it is all his fault.

Well, it is, isn't it? Smart kitty. ;-)

Your three...
I wish I knew of some magic trick that would make them all better, but it seems none of the good sounding advice for all of us has done any good at all. They will just have to work it out and find their own balance/peace. Hopefully it is just a reestablishing of the pecking order and once they work that out things will settle down again.

Of course it is!

The kittens' mother is only about 1 1/2 years old herself, and Kiki had just made peace with her. Now she has withdrawn the former truce. I don't know if it is that they are stealing the limelight, or if she is just pissed that they exist at all.
