Hey! I was reading that!

Getting defriended while in the middle of reading a flocked journal post is...weird. At first, I didn't know what was going on, but later on I noticed that that person's name no longer appears on my Mutual Friends list. And so I suppose I've been defriended. Which is no big deal, I knew that person had been thinking of trimming the flist, and I'm fine with it; really, I am.

Now...do I reciprocate? I'm tempted...my flist is too unwieldy as it is...It's not often you can defriend by mutual consent...but I don't know. Maybe I'll leave it for a day or two. She may not have meant it, it's all been a terrible mistake, and she'll realise soon enough...

Oh dear.

You mean, the one with the new DM video? Couldn't wait to get home and d\l it! Fantastic -- and as it started to play, I couldn't help but think "Hey! Dave looks a lot like he did in that very first video I ever saw of them, See You" -- it's as if the years of serious addiction have never happened at all!

your flist really is big!

Yeah -- it's sort of mushroomed over the years. But I just can't be doing with filters and the like, it just takes too much effort (and anguish) to create. :(

That's a little shocking though!

Hopefully you didn't mind being locked out of the post.

I know I've read posts and then found them locked when I went to comment, but those were of people who I wasn't friends with in the first place...

Not really, although I was just about to comment...

Honestly, it's fine; but as it was somebody who was one of the very first to friend me on LJ, I do feel a little twinge of sadness...Oh well.

Friending/defriending can be a sad thing...

Say, did that common rotation cd (Hotel Cafe I) ever arrive? If not, I'm just going to YSI you the contents of it.

Hey, that's strange...Last night when I tried to reply it said there was no such post, and sure enough, when I checked my LJ, your comment didn't show up. So I sent you my answer by gmail instead...and this morning, here you are!

Okay...that's just, um, weird!

Anyway, am currently YSIing. My comp is downloading a file, ripping a CD, and saving a movie file right now so it's pretty slow, but hopefully it won't take too long to finish.

I'd really like to get you the CD somehow. It's so frustrating that I can't seem to get it to you through the mail! But I greatly appreciate the CD you sent me ;^) *snuggles it*

When it comes through, let me know if it looks okay?

Thanks! ;^)

Of course I'll let you know! I'm just so embarrassed that all of a sudden, and for some reason, US Mail seem unable to find me...It's never happened to me before, and I hate for you to have to go through all this hassle.

Well I've been writing "audio CD" on the customs slip so it shouldn't be being confiscated, I don't think. I haven't the slightest idea. US mail has usually worked fine for me sending to other countries before too. I'm a bit baffled.

No worry. It's no real trouble ;^)

I can only surmise that customs officials here read that, get curious, open it, play it and then like it so much they steal! it...and who can blame them?

*L* Evil customs agents!

I'm assuming you got the link, but if not here it is. Hope it uploaded/downloads okay! Let me know if there are any problems.

I'll be happy just to get that to you, because you certainly deserve to have it.

Got it! Thank you, I'm listening to it right now, and...the songs really are different from any of the other versions I have, so I'm very happy to be able to add this to my collection!

Oh, man. I'm thinking of trimming my flist as well, but I just don't know how to do it without hurting people's feelings. And I know maybe that shouldn't matter, but I do care. So I'll probably just continue filtering. Too bad.

It's weird, but you do, don't you? Though yesterday, when that one person defriended me, it felt quite liberating, too...I went and defriended a few journals that hadn't been updated in over a year; then I went and checked who else had defriended me over the last couple of months, and defriended them right back. As of this morning, it means I've got 5 less journals to skim!

LOL...good for you!

I'm still probably going to trim, but I'll give fair warning. Quite frankly, I'm getting annoyed by the people who are obviously reading my journal but who aren't saying anything ever. It's time to get rid of my packrat tendencies. :)

Well, that is just plain rude, isn't it? Although I must admit that there are a few journals on my list that I rarely, if ever, comment on. Usually those of people who have friended me, that I've friended back as a matter of course, and that don't comment in mine...Hmmm. I may just have found another category to defriend...

Yep, that's pretty much how it is for me too. People friend me, I friend them back, and then they don't even have the courtesy to introduce themselves. I have a feeling they're only there for the fic, but they don't leave feedback either...

And you're left to wonder whether they like what they read at all. I get that, but to a lot of people, giving feedback, using constructive criticism, is a very scary thing. I know, I've shrunk back from it myself sometimes.

I've managed to convert my roomie, at least. Speaking as an author, even just a "I read this and I enjoyed it" is great. I think the best feedback I've ever gotten was from people who have said I've managed to make their lives more enjoyable or bearable for a few hours. That's good stuff right there.

"I read this and I enjoyed it", eh? (saving for future reference) ;-)
