::le sigh pt. 2::

So I found this code on the packet that housed my evening meal. All I had to do was surf to this website, pick a destination on the map, and enter the code -- then it would tell me whether I'd won a trip to said place. "Warning", it said, "This code can only be used once!" I looked at the world map, and went "Oooh, India! -- but hang on, there's something to be said for...Japan!" I clicked Hokkaido, typed in the code, and watched the tiny aeroplane take off from Schiphol and land in...friggin' India! Aaaarrrggghhh! Why didn't I go with my first choice?

Sure enough, when I tried it again, it knew the code had already been used...

Oh well, at least I sort of lucked out in this quiz:

To which race of Middle Earth do you belong?

I've always fancied myself as a Rider of the Rohirrim, perhaps because I love to ride in real life (though sadly, I don't get to indulge in it much these days), but mostly because they're not as high-falutin' as the Elves or the arrogant Lords of Gondor. Just give me a swift horse, an epic song and a horn of mead, and I'll be alright.

I've always liked the Rohirrim best too. Sadly, I am a Numenorean ponce.

Still, not as poncy as an elf.

Thank Who- or Whatever for small mercies, eh? Poor Boggy.

I'm a Rohirrim too. Must be the horses I'm not much into the horn of mead these days.

To be honest, I’m not terribly keen on the stuff myself. My nephew claims it’s his favourite alcoholic beverage, so with every family get-together we make sure there is some, but none of the rest of us will touch it and Mick only takes a few sips from his glass, so I wonder if he’s not just being an overly dramatic teenager.

You just know that if you had picked India the plane would have gone to Japan...

Woot! I ended up a dwarve, but I agree with you on the horses. *sigh* I miss riding on a regular basis.

You're so right! I had the exact same thought later that evening...and I can always get to either or both of these destinations on my own, if I want to badly enough.

It's cool to be an Ent, though. You can legitimately stand around and yack all day!

So, in preparation for the possible get-together, I posted this last night. You had one of those memes a while ago, didn't you? Consider this an entry.
