Dec. 14th, 2005

I've just finished watching The Corpse Bride, and it was very Tim Burtonesque. Funny how the world of the living is all drab and dreary while the underworld is full of colour -- and funny how Victor, when he finds himself in the first should want to go back to the latter in such a hurry. My nephew is going to be so annoyed when he hears I've seen it already...better not tell him, I suppose.

Our Christmas hamper this year contained a stainless steel fondue set, a recipe book, a bottle of olive oil and one of wine, 6 green mugs, a green cool bag (very uncool if you ask me), an egg timer, a pack of paper napkins and not 1 but 3 chunky green and brown candles...I wonder who put it together, and why. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find a use for some of these items, and maybe I can flog the rest on eBay.

That has got to be the weirdest combination I've ever heard of...

Isn't it just? I'm still scratching my head at that one...;-)

Maybe someone was clearing out the cupboards.

It sure does look like it...Or, perhaps it's one of those unforeseen results of the cost cutting initiative; whoever was in charge of organising this year's Christmas hamper, probably wanted to see how far they could make the budget stretch.

But here I am, moaning about an end-of-year gift when there are those whose very jobs look to have gone up in smoke! I should be ashamed of of myself! I hope all those affected will see an end to their uncertainty soon.

Meanwhile, your Christmas card has arrived -- thanks!

A green freezer bag, why green? What the hell is a freezer bag?

Oh you know, the kind of grocery/carrier bag that's lined with aluminium foil to keep your ice cream or frozen meat cool while you try and find a place for it in the fridge. I have no idea what it may be called in reality, but I've always just referred to them as freezer bags and ben readily understood by M & S personnel ;-)!

Is that their official name? Okay, I'll try to remember from now on.

My daughter and her friends saw The Corpse Bride a couple of weeks ago - they had intended to see the new Wallace and Grommit, but it was full. They said they were glad W&G was full because The Corpse Bride was so good.

The Christmas gift sounds... weird.

And you have got to go over to
and look at a couple of the icons - 11 & 12 from memory - but You'll know which ones as soon as you see them!

Oooh! Thanks for the re-direct -- both now safely transferred to my icon folder!

The Corpse Bride really is worth seeing, I would agree with your daughter and her friends. The puppets are amazing.
