Starting the year off on the right foot

I woke up feeling a bit fragile still, so I took myself off to the shops for a spot of retail therapy. It didn't take me long to find exactly what I needed: I'm sure I won't ever be putting a foot wrong in these lovely ponyskin pumps, which were very reasonably priced in the sales. The comeback of the sturdier heel is making me all kinds of happy, as is the rounded toe. At first I was miffed they didn't have the red in my size, but the more I look at them, the more I like the brown -- now I think I almost prefer them.

Buy a curry comb and give them lots of juicy carrots.

Oh don't be so bloody English! The horse isn't going to need its skin now that its bones have been made into glue...

If it's any consolation, I'm sure the horse had a rich and fulfilling life before its heart gave out suddenly and painlessly, and it was cried over by hundreds of grateful children who'd learned to ride on it and come to visit it in its retirement home feeding it carrots and sugar cubes.

You wouldn't just be saying that, now, would you?

I was reminded of your moo shoes the second I laid eyes on these, even if they're a different model entirely! Maybe one day, I'll bring them over to be properly introduced. ;-)
