Holland vs. Serbia-Montenegro

1-0. Not a massive victory, but still, we've got our first 3 points!

(Luckily, Soraya was in a good mood and allowed us grown-ups to watch the game while she went off to play with her new Sim thingie - whatever that is).

Man of the Match: Arjen Robben, and deservedly so.

Next up, the Ivory Coast on Friday.

And in the end, that's all that matters. ;-)

I just heard them blame the hot weather and the restrictions on their water intake for their lacklustre performance yesterday. Let's hope they'll be more used to the heat next Thursday.

Congrats! I thought they were very solid and deserved at least one more goal. The US play the Czechs tomorrow. It'll be tough.

I thought they were very solid and deserved at least one more goal.

They were -- they seem to work well as a team. Maybe San Marco did well to bypass all the egos and take a new team of young players to Germany with him instead (he's been getting some flak from certain know-it-alls in the media for that the last couple of weeks).

Will keep my fingers crossed for the US tomorrow.

Gosh. You sound like you care.

*shakes head in bemusement*

Me, I wish the whole bloody thing was over already.

Yes, but you don't have a Holland to support! You'd feel differently if you had.
Jun. 11th, 2006 09:24 pm (UTC)
Erm... nope, 'fraid not. Stupid, pointless game. Hate it all :)

Having said that, I support my home team in a vaguely loyal, howay-the-lads kind of way, but it's just because they're my home team. The actual sport is more or less immaterial!

Is it hot over there? It's hot over here. I feel the need to write hotness.

Plus, are you feeling better?

Is it hot over there? It's hot over here.

It's hot over here. Last week, an average of 12 degrees Centigrade...this weekend, 27.

I feel the need to write hotness.

Do you? That's marvellous! Is it Spike-hotness? Has the muse come back?

As to football: it's weird. I don't support any team, and I usually couldn't care less, but when there's a World Cup or a European Championship even, and my national team have qualified, all of a sudden it becomes the most important thing.

Still pretty warm today - hope it doesn't make your commute even more hellish.

The muse did condescend to put in an appearance and do a bit of pretty posing for me, but I'm greedy and I want more. But - I must work. Bleh.

I'm a bit like you and football when it comes to cricket - follow the national team, but no real interest in local stuff. Or I used to be, less so now. Although I did enjoy them trounching the Aussies, they've gone down hill a bit...

Good luck to your boys! I'm hoping ours will be on the first possible flight home, so the horror ends quickly.
