With the return of the summery weather, comes the return of the desire to wear summery dresses. But summery dresses only look good on svelte bodies, and so I've put myself back on a diet. Nothing to strict or strenuous, mind you; I've just put myself on half-rations, no sweets, and lots and lots of water. If I can keep this up, then maybe I'll be ready for the aforementioned skimpy outfits by next summer.
Congratulations to that part of my Aussie flist who are interested in football on their team's first win: 3-1 against Japan -- what a beauty; commiserations to those who support the US, who lost 0-3 to the Czech Republic.

I also support the Aussies -- I can't do otherwise as I also have family ties down under, and the team have a Dutch coach...Last week, they had a friendly against Oranje, and they really impressed. The Japan coach has criticised Hiddink for letting his team go full out against Holland in that match, but he basically told him to shaddup...football is war, after all. I like that.
I wanted the USA to win, I was upset when they didn't, but the Czechs are really good and if I'm honest they were never likely to win really... *sigh*
I bought myself an England shirt today, I seem to have caught football fever in a big way today!
I'm sorry the US didn't manage to do better, but...to be honest, I never did rate their chances, certainly not against the Czechs, who field a strong team both on the defensive as on the offensive.
I know just what you mean! Except in my case it'd be the summer after that! ;)
Good for you! We should meet up next spring and go skimpy outfit buying :)
And bummer on the US. *sigh* I guess I'll be rooting for England...
I'd pick a team with a better chance of winning if I were you. Brazil, perhaps? Or Germany -- host countries traditionally do well in these events.
