Worst possible timing

My sciatica is playing up again. It started yesterday afternoon, got worse last night, but after a long hot shower this morning, it seemed the worst of it was over. Wrong! By the time I got to the office, I could barely walk. I gave up trying to put in a good day's work after two hours, and came home. My back and leg are killing me, but I'm hoping that if I take it easy for the next few days, I'll have saved up enough energy to get me through the weekend. I'm not cancelling London, that's for sure.

*ouchies* Is there anything you can take for it to numb the pain?

Not anything I have to hand at the moment, and the drugs I got last time only started to have an effect after a day or two. I'm seeing my GP again tomorrow, see if he can't give me something a little stronger this time.

Well, my Plantar Fasciitis is playing up too (part of the reason I was hesitant in the first place). We can wince together.

What a pair we'll make!

oh no! Do you think you'll be alright? Will 10 million Guinnesses help at all?

Seriously if there are things we can do to help you on the day, just tell us! I know I for one easily forget that people might be feeling uncomfortable, but it's not done on purpose and a gentle reminder is all that's needed!

10 million Guinesses might just hit the spot! But I promise I will ask for help if I need it.

We'll have to start making plans for our moot -- when will you and _mysteria_ arrive in the city?

Good :)

11 am! Straight to the hotel! Check in, I know we probably won't be able to leave our stuff there, but otherwise we might lose the rooms! Whaddya think?

I think we could contrive to meet you there then! I can pick up my ticket from 12 onwards, so a long luxurious lie-in was never an option, really...

sounds like a plan already :)

*winces* Really hope you'll feel better soon!

Also, I'm sorry your team didn't score tonight. :-(

But neither did Argentina, so it's all good. ;-)

The match was rather tame, unfortunately. No on eplayer that stood out, except for Boulahrouz, who defended exceptionally well...but then, he always does.

*hugs* Gah. That sucks. I hope you feel better in time for London!

I'll make myself feel better. Seriously, I can fall apart after I come back, but I'm not going to let it spoil my holiday!

i hate sciatica. i get it occasionally - usually up the back of one leg, right to the hip...my mother and grandfather get it also, so i'm definitely sympathising with you. I know the pain.

Thanks. It's not too bad at the moment, though I will feel much more more confident if I can get my GP to prescribe me some heavy duty painkillers to take with me on my trip. ;-)
