This is a twist on the Letter Meme. Instead of coming up with ten items for a certain letter, you come up with five song titles for a certain letter and explain why you picked them. If interested then leave a comment. I'll give you a letter. You post this blurb in your journal along with your list.

deadflowerss gave me a D:

Days Before You Came, Placebo -- I like Placebo and Brian Molko's slightly nasal whine, and this was the first song beginning with D that came to me.

De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da, The Police -- if only sometimes you could just say 'de do do do, de da da da' and be understood...

Driver's Seat, Sniff 'n The Tears -- this song takes me right back to my schooldays. The date was 1980, I was 18, and the driving beat was irresistible - and has proved so ever since.

Dear Prudence, Siouxsie & The Banshees -- I've always liked this song immensely, from the moment I first heard it back in 1983. At first, I had no idea it was a cover of a Beatles' song, which I have since learnt was written by John Lennon in an ashram in India. The Prudence in the title was actually Mia Farrow's sister, who he thought took meditation far too seriously - hence the exhortation to 'come out and play'.

Dropping Bombs On The White House, The Style Council -- just a nice, upbeat, jazzy instrumental that never fails to lift my spirits.
