Call anytime, they said

I just cannot get a hold of the nurse's station to enquire into my father's state of health. Let's hope Mum's had more luck.

ETA: they're still not happy about his arrhythmia, and are keeping him in 'for a few more days at least'. Oh well, I suppose he's in good hands. And Mum's volunteered to feed the cat.

Thanks. He didn't seem too seriously ill when I saw him yesterday, and I don't expect his stay in hospital to be a prolonged one...though you never know.

Thank you. He's getting the best possible care so I'm confident he'll make a good recovery soon.

Thanks! I'm a worry-wort when it comes to him -- I'm sure he'll be fine in the end.

It's good that they're keeping him in (although I bet he'd rather be at home) to at least keep an eye on him.

You're right -- he's there under protest, but he does see the sense in it and now that he knows his cat is being cared for, he'll suffer with it for the foreseeable future. ;-)

Poor Apie (= Dad's cat); she's not used to being alone and goes around meowing all day. The staff at the home feel sorry for her and try and tempt her with treats, but shé's shy of strangers and just seems to be getting more upset each day. She's 14 and quite an old lady herself; change doesn't come easily to her anymore.
