GIP: new layout, old backgrounds

As the result of the many helpful hints and, in some cases, hands-on approach of my flist I received yesterday, my LJ now sports a brand spanking new and, dare I say it, utterly magnificent look, and I extend a heartfelt thankyou to everyone who's generously given of their time and expertise -- give yourselves a round of applause!

I feel it appropriate though to, for the moment, turn the attention to the backgrounds that have gone before, that after their spot in the limelight today will return to the anonymity of a space on my hard drive (which reminds me, perhaps I should burn them to cd sometime) - all are by bogwitch, btw.

First off, there was Drowning in Footwear, a gentle tease made up of my love of shoes and an appreciation for a certain blond vampire:

which after some time was replaced by the more blatant tease of Naked!Spike:

and finally, by the Common Rotation background that I'm retiring now:

I am so lucky in my flist!

In other news, I'm glad I decided not to fly out to the UK this weekend after all (even though it would have been fun to meet up again with some of you to go and see Beneva in concert) -- I don't believe the disruption at Heathrow and other airports will ease off soon. Though it had better be over with by the time the CoRo tour kicks off.

For now though, I'm off to the museum, in the pouring rain.

absobloominlutely lovely!!! congratulations on your spiffing new home!!

We didn't mention maybe.. because knew you weren't coming already .. but the concert was cancelled - as the venue closed down! So doubly good job you are not flying. It had definitely better be all clear by October - there's a lot of people needing a lot of flights to make it all work. Not least one from LA - ;)!!

enjoy the museum - perfect rainy day haunt x

Cancelled? What will yous do for fun day after tomorrow, then? ;-)

Went to the Escher museum with Mum, a long-standing arrangement. Was good, enjoyable; though I got soaked on the way over...and on the way back again!
