My woobies' latest cd, Isalie, has just come through the post. Funny how they never have any problem getting stuff to me. Plus, they stuck another button in ::hearts them::

Carol G., on the off-chance you're seeing this: you still up for coming to the Glasgow gig with us? I seem to have lost your e-mail addy in my last PC crash (at work). I'd so love for you to be there...

Now I'm off to listen to my newest musical treat -- ta ra me duckies!

ETA: I can't keep this to myself as a private pleasure. You all have to share in this, so here's two great tracks off the album - see what you think!

Color Guard
Wasted Words

CoRo's Californication
First thought after my initial listen: CoRo's gone California! Over all, the album has a very cohesive, very relaxed atmosphere -it never ceases to amaze me how many different treatments of old favourites this band can come up with, each one bang on again. Jrdan gets to play the banjo quite a bit in these 15 songs, and the harmonies...oh, the harmonies! Sometimes they remind me of that 60s California sound of The Mamas & The Papas or The Beach Boys -- reinterpreted for a 21st century audience.

I'm not sure that I can adequately describe what I mean, so I've uploaded two tracks - have a listen, and then you can make your own mind up..

Re: CoRo's Californication
::wills your connection to go a little faster::

Is it working? ;-)

They songs, btw, were picked totally at random, but the other 12 are very much in the same vein. Except maybe for Put My Little Shoes Away, which is a lot like I remember it from last year's gigs. Oh, and Auctioneer's gone ever so slightly electric!

Sep. 15th, 2006 09:46 am (UTC)
I'm sure yours'll come soon too - didn't we order our copies roundabout the same time (i.e. as soon as we heard there was a new cd)?

Wasted Words is on the sites? I really ought to check those more often!

And yes, after having played Isalie incessantly at home and on my player into work this morning, I'm getting quite excited about going on tour again! It's only 20 days away, after all!
Sep. 15th, 2006 09:23 am (UTC)
I can't download here at work - but it plays.

I think I just melted.

They've tagged The Trouby as a CD Release Party on mailing list mails .. so hope for lots of tracks.

thank you for sharing!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

You're very welcome -- Color Guard's good, isn't it? It's my favourite at the moment, but the others are equally good, too.

Fingers crossed the cd will be there waiting for you when you get home tonight.
Sep. 15th, 2006 10:10 am (UTC)
my fingers are so crossed they are going blue - Christy got hers though, so the signs are good! Yes, i ordered mine on day 1!

WW and Smile are on the front page and the myspace too... and Eric has his own myspace now too, about time!

20 days! *G* Be still, my squee!
No chance
Sep. 15th, 2006 10:11 am (UTC)
I simply, utterly adore Color Guard (But I keep wanting to put a U in it!)
Sep. 15th, 2006 10:22 am (UTC)
Me, too! ;-)

Eric's got his own MySpace? I'll have to search for it then. But why won't anyone tell me how to prettify my page? I just cannot find the edit lay-out option!
Sep. 15th, 2006 10:30 am (UTC)
Tori has him .. you can find him there - not sure if he accepted me yet, I only asked yesterday.

You have to find a myspace layout generator I think - that's easiest ... it's what I did! pretty much anyone with a fancy layout will have links to the site that generated it on their profile "this profile was made using blahblah" type of thing - does that help?

Well, it may do...I'll check yours. (Lorna told me there was a page where you could change your layout, and I assumed she meant MySpace, so I've been quietly going potty for the last month or so trying to find it -- I hate MySpace). Cheers!

Oh, thanks for the downloads; I particularly liked the first track, but I think I need one more listen. :-)
Sep. 19th, 2006 06:02 pm (UTC)
Hee! I'll turn you into a CoRo fan yet!
