Testing YouTube to LJ; and new layout

testing this new functionality (with Japan - Don't Rain On My Parade)...

And it looks like I've set everything up okay - go, me!

I've just joined YouTube. Well, it was about time, wasn't it - hordes of my friends have gone before me and don't seem to have suffered any adverse effects...although perhaps their inherent anti-social behaviour has been enhanced somewhat by their spending even more time than usual in front of their computers.

I don't know exactly what I'll be doing at YouTube just yet: I'm not a video-maker so it's not as if I need the platform to express myself creatively. The 2 hours since I joined have been spent scouring the site for some favourite music vids and saving them to My Favourites (hence the Japan), but whether I will have a use for the service after today is in the lap of the gods at the moment.

I've been feeling a bit down lately. I couldn't really say why...it's probably just the winter blues, but I haven't felt like writing in this journal much, and now that I am here, I don't know that I have anything to write about! I do know that I suddenly had enough of my bright orange background and 3-column layout and wanted something simpler; but I'm not sure that the simpler layout I decided on yesterday will be here for keeps. It's a bit stark perhaps, and it doesn't seem to want to change to the colours I want despite my having custom navigation bar colours enabled in Presentation...

And to take my mind off that particular problem, I've snagged and filled out this meme from onecheekyhobbit:

I kind of like the layout, but it might use a bit more color.

*hugs* on the blues.

Thank you for the hugs, they're very welcome!

And I agree, the layout could do with a bit more colour, but for some reason it's stubborn and won't let me force them...I think I'll tinker with it some more over the next few days.

hello ... right there with you on the not writing anything phase!

I'm being anoying and forcing Christmas iconage everywhere today - If I have to pick up the phone and listen to carols on hold music , you too must suffer ;)

Ranodm TV musings ...You're an Eastenderer? Wow - I haven't seen it since forever. You still peeking in on the new Robin H? .. I sometimes pause by the channel flicking if Guy is tied up .. ;) Do you watch Torchwood?

Don't be sad - think New York thoughts :) *hugs*

think New York thoughts :)

OH YES PLEASE!!! Realistically, what do you think our chances are of a quick hop across sometime in the next few months?

Didn't you know I liked EE? I don't think I make a secret of it, but it's perfectly possible that the subject has never come up in our convos...I've been watching (on & off) from the very first episode way back in '85; and for some time in the late '90s, I even helped mod the official BBC message boards on the subject -- till the flame wars began and the BBC pulled the plug on the whole project.

As to Torchwood - yes, I do catch the odd episode on repeat on BBC2; like yesterday's - I've been wondering what other uses there can possibly be to a stopwatch ever since. It's not bad, but to be honest, I'm having a problem warming to any of the protagonists, and even Capt. Jack gets on my wick a bit.

And I've given up on Robin Hood completely. I may occasionally take a peek at the pretty Guy, but I still think the whole show is crap with a capital C.

good...VERY good. So long as we are talking Feb/Mar...and they promised New Orleans in Feb - so looks hopeful ...Mister Jay says he cannot afford to come too but currently rated my chances at 75% ;)....you?

Me? Just say the word and I'll drop everything! Feb/March should be fine...unless they're putting in my double glazing then, but with enough advance notice, I'm sure I can work something out!

last year the dates came through first week in January .. I'm looking daily from here on in :)

p.s. Capn Jack does nothing for me either! - I find it an on-off series .. episode by episode it can be good or naff!

January, eh? I'll be keeping an eye out for those all-important dates then, too!

I find it an on-off series

I'd agree with that -- it's kay, but I wouldn't really care if they pulled the plug on it tomorrow. I'm much more interested in seeing Born Equal with Robert Carlyle and Colin Firth soon...though it could just be a film, not a series...not sure from the trailer.

hmmm just seen on Myspace someone (in the know?) has put them in Boston 25 March? which
should make NY a day or so either way....

could be a red herring... but might be a sign we don't have to wait much longer :)

Excellent! I'll start packing now! ;-)
