Ankle news

Rutger had promised me he would call during my consultation with the orthopaedic surgeon, so I hadn't really paid attention to all the medicalese that came out of his mouth at my last physiotherapy session. Of course, he quite forgot to call, and so in desperation while the surgeon's back was turned momentarily, I called him. Then in two minutes flat, after I handed my mobile to the consultant, where I had been arguing for twenty, it was all agreed: surgery to my ankle will take place on July 9th.

I feel rather overwhelmed. I've been pushing for this for over 2 years, but with the speed things are moving now, I don't know if this really is the right way forward; also because the consultant said he won't really know what needs doing until he opens up the ankle and goes in.

And I missed Doctor Who last Saturday. Can anybody vouch for me at doctorwho_eps? It seems they've changed the rules after they'd had a spot of bother. Sorted. Cheers!

You're asking me? I don't know how to do the really fancy stuff either! Whenever I feel like having a new layout, I just pick one of the ready-mades, and then customise to suit (colours, text, and the odd header, just by fiddling with the settings).

No I can't even figure out how to apply any of the ready-made styles!! I've downloaded the css code, but for the life of me can't figure out how to apply it. I feel like a complete dolt. :(

I never bother with codes, css or otherwise. I just go to Manage- Customize, and then in the Look and Feel-tab, I select the style I want. After that, it's usually just a matter of going back and forth between the tabs, saving and changing everything a thousand times until I'm happy with the result -- or just too plain kanckered to care anymore!

Oh, okay - I thought that looked a bit complex and was hoping there's an easier way.

A friend coded my current layout and I just pasted it into the overrides section of my profile. That was easy. Replacing it looks like it might be really hard. :P

I like your current layout. You should hang onto it for a while.

I like it too, but I have been concerned for a while that it sends the message that I'm a big Spander fan. I do read slash, but not to the extent that it should define me. Perhaps if I just change the banner image, it might solve the dilemma. I wish I had the time/skill to code my own layout though. :(
