Kitty pics

From Wikipedia, I've learned that a group of cats is referred to as a clowder. I never knew that, same as I didn't know that the word for a neutered male is a gib, or that a female cat is a queen. I wonder if these terms are only used by breeders and people who take their cats to shows.

My moggies will never win any prizes, but that won't stop me showing you them. They've been my constant companions while I've been recuperating; lying down next to me or sitting down on top of me, sometimes the three of them together, sometimes just the two.

Awww cat-spam! *loves*

(I have no cat-icon, so instead you get Spike, because my cat is called Spike...)

Well, Spike's cute, too...

Simply gorgeous. They look so handsome together, with their contrasting colors.

Glad you're feeling better, too--up to snapping and uploading pix for our delectation. Thanks!

Aren't they sweet? Now if only they could learn to help around the house more, that'd be great. ;-)

I'd like for mine to get jobs, but all they do is lie about and watch "cat TV" (look out the patio doors.)

They're gorgeous. A cat to cuddle always aids recuperation!

It's true, having my cats around me always makes me feel better when I'm poorly. I think their purring may have something of a hypnotic effect.

awwww babies!!

Hee! I was just turning off my computer when your message came in last night; it was too late to stop it. Hope you didn't think I was ignoring you!

Aww cute kitties. I love the contrast between black and white :)
Aug. 24th, 2007 06:10 pm (UTC)
Funnily enough, I don't usually notice their colour difference so much, unless it's remarked upon by some visitor.

I knew the queen and the clowder, but not the gib.

Nice pics. I love the distainful glowers cats give!

Leila, Queen (and now in more ways than one) of the Baleful Glare! ;-)

I think clowder is a very strange word. It reminds me of chowder to much, and makes me hungry.

Awwww...such cute kitties!! I just have the one, but he's handful right now. He doesn't like the baby much and it's been 17 months. Though, it doesn't help that Boo pulls Clancy's tail and hair. We're working really hard on teaching Boo to be nice.

And Clancy hasn't swatted Boo yet? I'd say that's encouraging, at least!

Yon and Yang cats!
Aug. 24th, 2007 07:20 pm (UTC)

I'm not the only one hitting Post without checking my typing! ;-)

Oooo! Kitties! ::wibble::
Aug. 24th, 2007 08:08 pm (UTC)
Kitties rule!
Aug. 24th, 2007 08:30 pm (UTC)
Oh, kitties. They're so very pretty, and a nice matched pair with the black and the white.
Aug. 24th, 2007 09:25 pm (UTC)
Do you know, for the longest time I didn't even realise they made such a striking pair? Then someone came to visit, and couldn't believe that what she saw was just coincidence ;-)

How pretty they are!

I just learned a new cat word: bunt. That's when a cat butts you with his head so you'll pet him. My cat bunts better than Phil Rizzuto.

bunt. That's when a cat butts you with his head so you'll pet him.

That's fantastic, thank you! I always thought it strange I couldn't find an English word for what we in Dutch describe as kopjes geven.

They are gorgeous!
Aug. 28th, 2007 01:20 pm (UTC)
Ha! I can't deny it!
