The other day, I noticed that my sweet little kitty Leila was spending an awful lot of pennies. But as she was eating and drinking alright, and looks and acts just the same as always, I didn't think too much about it - until Easter Monday when I noticed that there was blood in her urine. But again, she looked just fine and the vet's was closed anyway, so I decided to leave it for a couple of days and see how she got on.

By Wednesday morning, she couldn't control the urge to pee for more than 2 minutes; it was doing my head in to watch her go back and forth, back and forth, so I made an appointment to see the vet that afternoon. I'd managed to catch a bit of liquid to show them what was worrying me so, but it turned out it wasn't enough to run an adequate analysis on. And because Leila had been emptying her bladder every 2 seconds the entire day, the vet couldn't really feel anything wrong there, either.
Still, she agreed with me that it was not nothing; that her discomfort could be indicative of an infection or even struvite stones, and so she provided me with several packets of diet cat food clearly labelled 'FREE SAMPLES', and charged me 64 euros, 71 eurocents for them.
She also asked me to bring round a bigger urine sample as soon as possible.

Which I did, last night. Don't ask me how I got it; you do not want to know! She put one drop under the microscope (even less of the stuff than I'd brought with me the day before), had a glance, and said: "Struvite stones. That'll be 12 euros 50, please".

I'm in the wrong line of work.

Meanwhile, my cats refuse to touch the diet food. I can't blame them: it looks awfully bland.

Re: Hi
16! That's a great age for a cat - you must be taking very very good care of her!

Before Leila, there was Aloysius. For 15 years, he was all I ever wanted. I hand-reared him from when he was just 2 days old, and he died in my arms 15 years, 2 months and 2 days later. I didn't think I would want another cat after that, but the house just didn't feel like a home without a feline around and I was just too unhappy, so when someone offered me a 5-week old kitten out of their cat's litter two years ago, I jumped at the chance. There were 2 red and 3 black on offer, and because Aloysius had been all black, I fully intended to return home with a little red tomcat...but Leila had other ideas.

She left off playing with her brothers and sisters as soon as she saw me come in, spent the next 5 minutes clawing her way up onto my shoulder, touched my nose with her paw to make me turn my head and look at her, and opened her pink little mouth wide to say 'meow!' How could I resist?

7 weeks later, I got her a little playmate from a pet shop. I love both my girls, but if I'm honest: Leila's special.

Re: Hi
I try to take good care of her. For about four years ago we get an other cat. Then she get kittens and we keept two of them also girls. But then the mother and one of the sisters move to a neibour. So now we have to cat's. And I think the old one like her to. I still live at home. But the old one is mine. But I don't think it's good to take her with me if I go and study this fall.

But she is like my litle baby...to many night without her and I miss her very much.

My little sister is gonna get a little rabbit. so today we look at them they are three weeks...so cute...not like kittens but..

I know what you mean about the special thing...if we compare all of the four cat's every one of them is speciall but Buster(awfull name I know...not even a girl name) But I was a litle girl when I name her so..., she is just..no one will ever be like her...she is older then my litle brother and sister...thats something...

Talk to you later
