Whoopsie!

I've got a job interview! Tuesday at 14:30 -- I'd better brush up on my interviewing skills; I haven't had to call on those for a while...

Well, that's the darndest thing...

A few weeks ago, I was sitting at my computer as you do, and a message came into my mailbox. It was from this recruitment agency and said that some time ago, I had shown an interest in joining their team of recruitment consultants but that for one reason or another, it hadn't come together.

Now I had to think long and hard about it, but then I recalled that about a year ago, I had indeed been filling out an online application form when my attention had been drawn by something else and I aborted the process...but apparently some of it had still gone through; and now when they were looking to expand their workforce again, they included me in their mailing, and inviting me to an informal introductory evening at their headquarters if I was still interested.

So I thought about it for a week or two, then mailed back saying "Alright, I might still be interested, tell me more" and attaching my cv. I got an e-mail back saying "Thank you for your message; unfortunately, I no longer work for Agency X"; so I thought 'okay, that's it' and didnt give it another thought...

...until this morning when my mobile rang and this woman introduced herself, said she was sorry to have to tell me the introductory evening with drinks and fingerfood organised by her predecessor in the job had had to be cancelled, but that she would very much like to meet with me in person to see whether we could come to a mutual agreement.

So the short it is, she's interviewing me for the job of recruitment consultant. Which is not exactly within any of my previous fields of expertise or experience, but I'll havea go nonetheless. It sounds like it might be interesting and I need a change...;-)
