On the road again

My travel plans are slowly taking shape. I'm booked into hotels in London and Glasgow, have arranged for my flight back from Glasgow to Amsterdam (which ridiculously takes 4 hours as there's no direct flights available and I have a 1 1/2 hour stopover at Heathrow), and I've found a coach to take me from London to Coventry for the bargain basement price of £2 (it will mean getting up early, though). All I need do now is decide whether to take a coach to Paris and thence to London (= cheap, but long hours on the road), or go to France by train and fly to the UK the following morning (= expensive, but luxurious and quick). Also, I've got tickets to the London, Leamington Spa (I hope) and Glasgow shows, and Paris is free admittance, apparently.

All in all, a good morning's work, even if I say so myself.

They do promotional rates sometimes, so maybe you got one of those?

Now I'm taking the coach to Paris (26 euros, also a promotional rate as the normal price is 40 euros), and a plane to Heathrow from Charles de Gaulle airport will set me back 87 euros which isn't too bad...as long as I restrict myself to drinking nothing stronger than water on this tour. ;-)

Acutally, I think it helps to be an Australian citizen when getting a fare on the Eurostar. Though I could be wrong about that.

As for drinking water: who are you kidding? ;) Plus, you'll need something strong to numb the pain from standing all the time for gigs. At least, that's the excuse you're going to use, right? ;)
