There's no cure for the common cold, and so I'll just have to ride it out...It's been coming on for a few days, but this morning I felt so wretched, having kept myself up all night with these constant bouts of sneezing, that I phoned in sick and stayed home. Now I wish I hadn't, because at least at work I would have had access to a printer.

I forgot to print off my hotel reservation confirmation voucher for Paris.

It said in the accompanying e-mail, which I did print off, that failure to present the Confirmation/Accommodation Voucher at the hotel reception may result in being charged directly by the hotel, as the Confirmation/Accommodation Voucher is the only accepted proof of payment in advance. So why did I forget to follow the link and print it off? Because I'm an idiot, that's why.

Oh well.

I've spent the morning working out my itineraries from the bus station to my hotel, from the hotel to the venue (and back), and from the hotel to the airport in the morning; but I'm afraid I won't be entirely at ease until I've touched down on familiar British soil again. Although I love to travel and see the world, I always find it such a relief to find myself somewhere where I don't have to resort to sign language to make myself understood and where I can follow directions without the fear of getting hopelessly lost because I've missed some crucial clue.

It's not going to be so bad this time, though. I do speak French after a fashion, having been taught it in school; and I understand the French speak much better English these days, too. I'll be fine, I know I will.

I'm sick too! woo!! Common colds yahboosucks! They tried to send me home .. bah - I needed the printer too! - Not with as much urgency as you, granted - hope you managed to track a friendly printer down somewhere... else hang on to the word "may" and take it as an empty threat *fingers crossed*

I have printed off road directions enough to kill a small forest! ... can't find my Wed gig one at the moment though.

When do you go .. Saturday or Sunday?

Have lots of fun - you can tell us if there is a trumpet in town! David is actually in the UK tonight - in Southampton.

Monday - depending on time and traffic I might drive or tube it - see you at the venue? - Jubilee Line to North Greenwich? I'm hoping to get there between 5.30 and 6 and to attack one of the yummy restaurants inside :) Will have phone.

Stopped in at the library to print off my reservation voucher; that's one less worry.

Hope you've found your Wed gig one by now.

I go on Sunday.

Will definitely see you at the IndigO2 between 5:30 and 6pm -- how did you know I was planning on taking the Jubilee line to N Greenwich? *g*

Perish the thought! I was never going to let it come to that -- but thanks for thinking/worrying about me!
