...but yesterday, I did take some of where I work! Or rather, of my way to and from work. Taken with my mobile phone camera, they're not the best quality, but they'll serve to give you some idea of why I'm so glad I won't have to do this every day next week:
Early morning. At the time, I still had to learn that a moving bus and a handheld camera/phone do not produce the best quality picture. The woman with the orange purse in her lap is my colleague Kim. I didn't even notice her until I looked at the picture!
I arrive at the office while the rosey-fingered dawn paints the sky.
The day is done, for me as it is for the woman who sells oliebollen (Dutch doughnuts, a seasonal treat) from a trailer. You can't really see her, but she's cleaning the counter prior to closing up shop.
A final glimpse of Schiphol Plaza as I hurry to catch my train.
Also, haircut! As I was running around town this afternoon, taking care of some final errands before I leave for Paris in the morning, I caught sight of a sign outside a hairdresser's that said "NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY TODAY!" -- so I went in on a whim and came out freshly rinsed, cut and blow-dried a mere 45 minutes later.
