That clinking, clanking sound

It's not often a local rag horoscope is accurate, but having just received my latest bank statement, I can see that I really will have to economise, and learn to live within my means. I'm not destitute yet, but I have been spending a lot of money on fripperies lately and it. must. stop. So I'm making myself a solemn promise right now: January sales or no, there will be no unnecessary purchases when I hit the Big Smoke tomorrow.

It's just a flying visit this time: I'm off to see Lee Mead star in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Adelphi, with anonypooh, tori_x and miss_fairfax; and will be flying back to Amsterdam on Sunday -- ready to start work again on Monday. Jobsworth rang to remind me that I'd said I'd be back in after Christmas...amazingly, he'd never heard of the full Twelve Days of Christmas...;-)

BTW, and à propos of nothing: if you've changed the lightbulb, and you've changed the fuse, and the light still won't come on in the bathroom, what else is there to check? I've run out of ideas, and feel like smashing something.

No need to warn the shoe shops you're coming then?

None at all. I'm giving up shoes for the duration. Unless, of course, I can find some other area to economise on.

Food? Heating?

Yup. Either one of those two.

Yey!!! See you tomorrow!!! :)

If I can remember to set the alarm. I've booked myself on an early flight out again.

The wiring in the ceiling rose. But I'd leave that to a qualified electrician as it's a dangerous job.

That's what I was thinking, too.

Possible the cable is damaged or the wiring is broke somewhere along the length. Either way it's a "call in an electrician" time.

or the bulb/fuse you used were faulty.

Check the lightbulb in another place? I've taken brand new ones out of the package that were faulty. Otherwise - nightlight in the outlet will do until you get the electrician out.

Have fun on your trip
