According to her attending, Mum's surgery was a complete success. They managed to remove the growth in its entirety, in an operation that lasted 4 hours. She was still a bit groggy when I saw her a few hours ago, but happy that she's come through the procedure without any surprises, and looking forward to the day she's allowed to sit up again.

Oh thank goodness!

I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery

She was already sort of half sitting up today, and going to the toilet on her own, so I think she will be fine.

They've already started her on some exercises that she can do in bed, so they must feel she's up to it...She was a lot perkier this evening. Unfortunately, the hiccoughs don't seem to have subsided yet...though they may do so later.

Oh gosh - I do hope they settle down quickly - it would be horrible for her if it didn't get rid of them.

Thank you! She seems to be recovering very well, is already off all the tubes and wires, and encouraged to get up and about as much as she feels is possible.

They're keeping her in hospital for another week, but they've already started her on some exercises and she seems to be coping well enough, so I'm quite optimistic, really.

That must have been so hard, on both of you! Now she can settle in and you can relax.

I feel your pain - it took me weeks to clean Frank's room.

Oh my goodness! I can just feel that horrible sinking in the pit of the stomach when you realised and there was nothing you could do about it.

I'm glad the move went so well. It sounds like it might be a great place for her.

I'm glad things turned out okay! (Other than the rhubarb.)
