Every day now, a blacker picture of the recession we're in is painted in the papers and the TV news shows, and the spectre of unemployment looms large in everyone's future. Yet here I am, looking at job postings again, and thinking perhaps I should take the plunge before I totally lose my bottle.

I wish they'd stop f'ing talking about it.

It's all the talk that's making it worse! Real estate agents only talk about the upside of everything to maintain values, why can't economic news guys do the same? If only for a week or so?

Amen, sister! I also think the news is far too depressing, and it's getting to that point now where I'm starting to avoid reading the papers, esp. in the mornings. I usually carry a book with me anyway, so it's not as if I have no alternative ;-)

The news freaks me out, frankly. I saw an article about revolution and food riots in 2010. It ruined my mood for at least a week.

It's pretty scary stuff, isn't it? Though I have tightened my belt of late (when I think of all those shoes that I haven't bought), yet there's still a part of me that stubbornly refuses to give credence to all the doom and gloom foretold in the media. But then, we're only entering into the recession now, while you lot in the States have already been living in it for a year, and may have more of a grip on reality than I.

Thanks. Though I don't need or deserve them really, it's always nice to get some ;-)

Well, as long as you've still got the one you have, why not have a look around to see if there is anything else that you'd like better?

Exactly! After all, it can't hurt to look...
