Quite fetching! I think my favorite pair is the second one.

They're my best bargain this summer. Cheap and cheerful, and every bit as comfortable as my Birkenstocks (which I haven't photographed 'cause everybody knows what Birkenstocks look like).

I want #3. Need my address?
Jul. 14th, 2009 06:12 pm (UTC)
You're a different size to me...

They're by Nine West. Check out this website; they may not sell the exact same model in the States, but they do offer plenty of fairly similar looking sandals at reduced prices online!

I like #1 best.
Jul. 14th, 2009 06:07 pm (UTC)
Really? I wouldn't have thought they held much appeal for you...though they have got buckles ;-).
Jul. 14th, 2009 06:08 pm (UTC)
I wouldn't wear them myself, but I like the tassels.
Jul. 14th, 2009 06:21 pm (UTC)
Me, too: I'm a tassel fiend, have been all my life. Shoes, bags, jackets: if they've got tassels, I have to have them.
Jul. 14th, 2009 06:38 pm (UTC)
I've always liked them, but since I had a tassled top which got caught in everything, I've avoided them.

I've got a woollen tasselled skirt I've had for a decade or more now, and can't bring myself to throw it out ever, even if objectively speaking, it's the most hideous skirt in the world!
Jul. 14th, 2009 08:16 pm (UTC)
You could make it into a cushion.
Jul. 15th, 2009 06:32 pm (UTC)
I could...when I'm done wearing it.
Jul. 13th, 2009 10:42 pm (UTC)
Oh very nice. Have you bought all of them? The trouble with the jandals is your feet cover up the lovely pattern.
Jul. 14th, 2009 06:04 pm (UTC)
You can still see some of the pattern around the edges when I wear them...and I have been wearing them quite a lot of late. They're lovely.

And yes, I have bought all of these -- and more these last few weeks!
Jul. 14th, 2009 07:09 pm (UTC)
Wow. Were they expensive? I love the fringed ones.

You are a bit of a shoe collector, aren't you. Do you ever prune them out or do you keep them all?
Jul. 14th, 2009 07:51 pm (UTC)
You are a bit of a shoe collector, aren't you.

Whatever gave you that idea? ::giggle:: My friends and family despair of me sometimes, as I can't pass a shoe shop without having a little peek inside. I just love shoes, and if I find a pair I like, I'll buy it. I've got far more than I need, and yet I never have enough.

I'll keep my shoes for as long as I can, but there comes a moment in every shoe's life when they can't be worn any more and then I'll regretfully throw them out, or, if they're still in good nick, I may take them to charity shops, and hope someone else will give them a good home.

I carry mental pictures of my shoes past and present, and I have fond memories of footwear I used to own, and these can come to me at any time of the day or night. Why, just this morning, I suddenly remembered a favourite pair of brandy-coloured suede shoes I used to own some 20 years ago, that were quite masculine in their design and closed with a single buckle to the side. I loved them and wore them till they fell apart, and I've never really found a replacement for them. And I can go back even further in my memory and remember my first pair of winter boots that I got when I was six (greyish/beige-yish knee highs) or the dark blue corduroy summer shoes I had when I was eight. It killed me when I put my big toe through the left one while going up a mountain on our summer holiday in Austria that year...

Oh, and coming back to your original question: no, they weren't expensive at all. I got them in the sales for less than 20 euros!

eh summer's over here, which means it's ugly rainy-day footwear for me. not that i have gorgeous shoes like you do, summer or no.

just curious, where do you store your old shoes? do you throw them out? how do you decide which one's to sink in the thrash? i have no method myself which is why i am still asking myself how on heck did i throw away my nice pair of fire engine red espadrilles.

To answer your question: I don't really have a hard and fast rule when it comes to binning any pair of shoes, other then when they're so worn and battered I can't in all conciousness justify their taking up any more of my limited floorspace. Though sometimes it's hard to let go of a particularly favourite pair, and then I will just put them in the back of the cupboard and let them gather dust there for all eternity. And of course, on occasion I'll also give away shoes that are still perfectly presentable but for some reason or another, I've lost interest in, and they go to charity thrift shops mostly. But it is a problem, and I'm still drowning in footwear.

I love the first pair!

They're great fun, aren't they?
