Oh dear

A friend of mine sent me the following picture, taken at a social gathering that took place on May 10th, the day of my first job interview. How strange that when you dress for an interview, you cast a critical look in the mirror before you go out and you think you look alright; then you see a picture and realise that the grey suit that you thought made you look smart and professional instead makes you look like a ruddy elephant!

The jacket does seem a bit short.

It does, doesn't it? I swear this wasn't a concern when I bought the suit 2 years ago; has fashion changed, the jacket shrunk or have I grown taller? It's a mystery to me.

It's not that bad - but it's certainly not your best ever look.

They say the camera never lies, so I wonder why I never saw I've got such an enormous bum before.

It's a bad angle for the picture

Well that's what I always tell myself when unflattering photos are taken

Maybe if I tell myself often enough, I may start to believe it at some point, too.

I...don't think you look bad. Maybe it's not the most flattering cut (I think I'd wear a longer suit jacket), but honestly, you look fine.

I went into town today to try and find a longer suit jacket, but I'm afraid they're all this length. On the plus side, that meant I didn't have to splash out.
