Oh! For the days of our youth!

Yesterday's TOTP2 had a Generation X-clip from 1978 in it. Two things:

1) I'd forgotten Billy Idol'd ever been a moon-faced young lad with a mullet;
2) the man's going to be 48 sometime this week!

Most women seem to have a talent to look their horriblest.

In all fairness to our sex, it's not just them. You look around you at the men you work with, and you start to feel real despair. For instance, how many men in The Netherlands still believe it's perfectly alright to wear white tennis socks...and grubby white tennis socks at that? Plus, if they're wearing a suit, it's always an off-the-rack of the buy 2 pay for 1-variety, with a jacket that hangs off their shoulders as if it's hanging from a sack of potatoes, and creases into the bargain, and the colours! Can I confess to a horror of mint green or aubergine in menswear?

With me, it comes and goes...I can look real smart if I put some thought and effort in, but most of the time I just wear what feels most comfortable. And I tend to dress from the feet up; first I decide what shoes I'm going to wear, then I'll think about what goes with them.

Come to think of it, I could do with some of Trinny & Susannah's advice...or, I could definitely do with Trinny & Susannah's £2000...

I hope you knew I didn't mean you....I meatn all these women with perms and littel shawls and great baggy sweaters halfway to their knees.

And I totally agree with your statemetn on mint and aubergine in menswear. I remember when I was still in ICT the guys alwasy thought it was just great that they were wearign them. The horror. And prereably loafers or gery plastic shoes from Bata...

And of course I knew you never had me in mind when you wrote that! You wouldn't dare: I know where you live ;-)
