I fail to see how the new feature of cross-posting comments to Twitter and Facebook add value to LiveJournal, and I won't be making use of it. I wonder if it's a sign though, that LJ is worried for its future; and if it is, does that mean I should be? Should I get a DreamWidth-account, just to be on the safe side?

I have to say though, I can't see what a lot of the fuss is about. If people are rude enough to post from your LJ using a button, they'll do it anyway with some cut and paste, and that you can't friendslock

I have to agree with you there. It's why I haven't implored people not to cross-post any comments they might want to make to any of my entries.

There are a few scripts and workarounds being proposed left, right and centre; but the one I tried didn't have the desired effect (or none that I could see), and so I've decided not to bother with any of that. Anyone following a link to a flocked post will still have to log in before they can see anything, or so I'm told, which means I don't need to panic about my security settings just yet.
