365: day 3

I came across a goose preening itself along the water's edge this morning, and thought I'd capture its image for today's photo. I took a few, but now can't decide which one I like best...

I'm not much of a photographer these days. I used to be quite an enthusiastic amateur, back in the 80s, when I had the proper equipment and access to a dark room courtesy of my professional photographer boyfriend -- nowadays though, I'm content to use a simple pocket digital camera that I mostly forget to take with me, or the camera on my phone. Three days in to my project, and already I'm thinking maybe I've bitten off more than I can chew...But, while the job hunt continues to frustrate me, occupying some of my time taking pictures will perhaps allow me to put myself back into a better frame of mind.

I like the middle one best, I think.

I actually found it easier to keep going taking my picture a day after the first month or so - it became habit to have one eye on what would be the photograph for the day by then.

Now that I look at them again, I think I agree with you. I wonder how that bird manages to stay upright ;-)

I'll just give it a go. Right now, it seems to me as if I'll never get to 365 photographs, but perhaps I shouldn't worry about getting there and just try to get to 30 to start with.

I have to admit, I rely on my phone far too much these days to take photos. But it's always there.

Darren suggests that you might know of somewhere nice to eat dinner in Amsterdam or The Hague. It doesn't have to be traditional Dutch food, if such a thing exists. Just nice, though I am allergic to seafood.

I'm sure I can come up with a few suggestions...e.g., have you had rijsttafel before? If nowadays curry is Britain's national dish, then rijsttafel must be ours ;-).

Googled it, sounds great. :)

And yeah, very hard to get a good curry here after spending so much time in the UK.

I do like the middle one. Geese and ducks as well seem to have no problem standing on one leg. They'll even sleep that way--and it makes me tired to see it!

That must have been so hard, on both of you! Now she can settle in and you can relax.

I feel your pain - it took me weeks to clean Frank's room.

It must be a relief to have seen her sitting and chatting.

I wish you well with the house clearing. I'm not sure if this is helpful - but it took my sister and I at least one full day a week for a…

Oh my goodness! I can just feel that horrible sinking in the pit of the stomach when you realised and there was nothing you could do about it.

I'm glad the move went so well. It sounds like it might be a great place for her.

I'm glad things turned out okay! (Other than the rhubarb.)
