Project 365 - Day 16

The sun's come out and all is right with the world, even if yesterday's recruiter has just come back to me with the message that the telco (T-Mobile) has ixnayed on my candicacy for their vacancy. I thought they might, as the job as it was described to me yesterday led me to suspect that while it wasn't an entry-level position, it wasn't exactly mid-career, either. They've now confirmed that I have "too much seniority", and I'm fine with that. Basically, it means they're looking for someone cheaper.

For the subject of today's picture, I'm going back to birds, just because they were so cute when I spied them this morning. There's a small colony of parakeets living in the neighbourhood, who must have descended from a couple of escapees, and who have been doing remarkably well in the last few years, considering the winters we've had. This morning, I spotted two of them all lovey-dovey in the bushes ;-)

Very cute birds!

It's too bad about the job, but it doesn't sound like a good fit. I hope the perfect opening comes up soon!

Thankfully, I've learned long ago not to take any of these rejections personally...and when the job -like this one- doesn't really offer an outlet for my skills and abilities, I really won't lose any sleep over it.

Those birds don't belong there!

Sorry about the job, but it clearly wasn't a good fit. Your job search worries me a bit though as I'm about to turn 42 and will also be looking to change jobs in a couple of years.

I don't think you need to worry too much yet about your chances on the job market in a few years. The present crisis can't last forever, it may not affect your area of expertise, and your luck may be radically different from mine.

I'm now entering into my 5th month of unemployment. Last time, it took me 9 months to find a job, so I'm not despairing of my chances yet, even though things definitely seem to be more difficult now.

Awwwwww indeed! I think I would find them an irresistable target for my camera.

I'll keep sending good job mojo your way.

It always gives me a little jolt of pleasure, seeing those bright green birds flit through the trees, where our indigenous birds are better camouflaged in their muted colours of browns, blacks, whites and greys.
