Hey, LJ!

I've become terribly addicted to the photo-sharing app Instagram in recent months (so much so that my phone bill's gone up and up, yet I still can't seem to moderate my posting habits). I can't go out without snapping pictures of buildings, trees, and landscapes (mostly), and here are some of the originals of the photos that, edited and made into little squares, I posted there in recent weeks. Unfortunately, I seem to have deleted all the originals of the 5 inches of snow that's been on the ground for the last fortnight, and which is slowly starting to turn to slush now that the thaw's arrived today.

Oh, how lovely! Someday, I want to see a Dutch windmill for myself.

You'd better hurry, then - every year, there are fewer of them around.

Although, the one in the picture is a working sawmill. I don't suppose that one will go anytime soon...

Beautiful pictures! I may be in the minority, but I love winter.

Winter certainly does have its own charms...as long as you can keep warm enough ;-).

Winter can be very beautiful - personally I love the contrast of dark trunks, heavy sky, and snow.

I agree; though I have to admit, my favourite winter days are the ones with the clear blue skies, the dazzling sunlight reflected off the thick white carpet of snow, and even though the temperatures are way below zero, you don't feel the cold as there is no wind at all. We've had a few days like that earlier in the month, but my photographic evidence of it is only available on IG.

Your landscapes have been lovely.

Thank you - I think I'm developing an eye for them (and spending all too much time doing so).

Gorgeously monochrome stuff! I love sinister dark water against snow.

Me, too - and everything's so quiet ;-)

Lovely and contemplative.

I do love these quiet winter days...

Ooh but it looks so dark. I prefer a nice sunny winter's day. Still I especially like the one of the stream with the circles in the snow. :)

I like how that came out myself -- even after someone mentioned that one of the shapes looks like a knob...it does a bit, too ;-)

I had to go back and have another look... hahahaha! :)
