Tread very carefully...

The right heel on my red suede slingbacks is suddenly wobbly. A worrying development, as I'm actually on my way to db2305's exhibition opening. What if my heel gives out before I get there? What if it does while I'm there? And what made it decide to go wobbly in the first place?

Damn! These are my favourite red shoes. I bought them 9 years ago with my first HP paycheck, when I was still hopeful that my new career would bring me happiness and fulfillment and...I don't know. And now the heel wobbles. Story of my life, really...

And I thought I was having a bad stretch of it! My sincere condolances on the demise of your beautiful boots...or can the heel be put back on, do you think?

He told you to come back for them on Friday the 13th? Hope it's not an omen!

Oh dear what a disaster. Mind your ankles!

Bob posted Winding Roads to you a couple of days ago, btw.

Careful, careful, Utrecht's treacherous place, full of cobbles and slippery hardstone...arrive safely!

I imagine you look lovely in your wobbly slingbacks. And that you will meet someone who will sweep you up and carry you home so you don't turn your little ankle.

Erm...sorry, that didn't happen. This is Holland -- were not a nation that is well-known for its gallantry! More's the pity, really ;-)
