Aches and pains

My elbow hurts. It's been hurting for weeks. When I first became aware of it, I thought I might have slept on it, you know, as you do; and it would right itself in a day or two...but we're 2 or 3 weeks further on now and it won't. stop. hurting. And I think it's getting worse, too. The slightest movement sets it off now, and I can hardly stretch or use my arm to lift even a coffee cup. It's very annoying, esp. since it's my right arm and I'm not exactly ambidextrous.

Do you think I should see a doctor? It doesn't look any different, it's not swollen or anything...

And while I'm on the subject of aches and pains: I think I may have a cavity. I was just sitting on the sofa the other day, reading a bit of fanfic (Nan Dibble's lastest installment) when all of a sudden, I had this fuck!fuck!FUCK!thishurts!! sensation going from one of my teeth into my jaw, down into my stomach and out through...shall we say, muladhara chakra?...totally unpleasant. It lasted for about half an hour and then subsided, but it's been back a couple of more times since then.

I haven't had a toothache since I was in primary school. I called my dentist and the earliest he could fit me in was 10 days from now! He never sees me...now he thinks I'm a hypochondriac?

Actually, I hope I am, sort of. I don't relish the thought of having any drilling done around my teeth...

Go to the doc. Fixing aches and pains is what they're there for! You can't lose.

You can't lose!

Oh yes, I can -- valuable hours that I could have spent more productively at work, going bored out of my skull in the waiting room.

But you're right. I think I may be able to rearrange my schedule for Friday. Hope my GP has surgery then...I'll have to look it up tonight!

You're bored at work, so how is it any different in a waiting room?

Point. ;-)

Pain is usually indicitive of something wrong, especially if it lasts more than just a day or so. Go to the doctor. The elbow may have something to do with work and have an easy fix, but not seeing to it could make it worse.

Go to the doctor

I will. Before the week is out. I promise.

Thank you.

Sounds like RSI, sweetie. Good advice from Bogwitch!

Sounds like RSI, sweetie

Break it to me gently, love, why don't you? ;-)

Actually, for now I'm just going on the assumption that I've strained it in some way, and that I'll be right as rain as soon as I'll have it seen to. Which I'm going to. Soon.

Well, the mortality rate for RSI isn't that high...do have it seen to though. This week!

Well, the mortality rate for RSI isn't that high...

True, but once you've got that sort of thing, you're lumbered with it for life...don't know whether that's something to rejoice in, but I'm thinking: not :-(

It doesn't bother me that much anymore, but it remains a weak spot...

Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't realise!

But if that's the case than yeah, you're a shining example of how it doesn't have to put a stop to doing all the things you like doing.
