Kittens are so cute -- pity they grow up so fast!

Adorable with a capital A.

Isn't he just? He knows it, too.
May. 25th, 2004 07:51 am (UTC)
I like the first pic best.

Typical cat behaviour: "thou shalt make it impossible for thy human to ever read the Sunday paper in anything resembling peace and quiet, or any way that would enable them to turn the page. Thou shalt further instinctively move that that part of the paper that holds their interest at that time, and shift when they shift theirs accordingly".

So young, and already Manasse shows consumate skill at this...
May. 25th, 2004 08:35 am (UTC)
Yeah, why do cats do that? Bob reckons it's a feline conspiracy to distabilize human society by preventing the dissemination of information to the masses (or words to that effect).
May. 25th, 2004 08:53 am (UTC)
Yeah, why do cats do that?

Beats me...to test the limits of our endurance, maybe? Though there's something to be said for Bob's theory as well...

Lately, Manasse and his partner in crime Clio have come up with a new way of making my life a misery, just to show that they love me (was sich liebt, dass neckt sich, after all): they start scratching really loudly at the wardrobe door and try to worm their way in -- at 2:40 a.m. every bloody night this week!
May. 25th, 2004 10:05 am (UTC)
Yes, I've been a victim of that tactic too.
May. 25th, 2004 07:03 am (UTC)
Awwwwww! The last too are especially adorable. Those pink ears are so cute!

Those pink ears are so cute!

I love how kitten ears always seem to be just a little bit too big for their head and body size. Oh, what am I saying? I love everything about kittens: their tiny noses, wobbly legs and tails that always seem to want to go in an other direction than the rest of the cat!

Here's my baby when she really was a baby.

She's still all eyes and ears. And teeth!
May. 25th, 2004 09:03 am (UTC)
Oh, she's lovely -- such a little madam!
May. 25th, 2004 09:12 am (UTC)
Kitty Porn!!!

He is really adorable, though...
May. 25th, 2004 10:58 am (UTC)
Very cute.

Oh! So sweet! He's white! I hadn't thought of him as white! He's adorable. How are the girls? Have they accepted their little brother?

How's his hearing? There's some sort of genetic link between whiteness and hearing in moggies I think. Problem is - you'll never know if he doesn't respond when you ask him to do something because he has the gene or he's just a typical male.

I'm going to start the big kittie drive again. I miss Smut and I want another one, especially after seeing your boy.

How are the girls? Have they accepted their little brother?

Of course, they were very hostile at first, and very mad at me. Clio seemed to thaw a bit by the 2nd day, but Leila had a word with her and that was the end of the detente. Manasse decided he wasn't going to take any of their crap, though -- and by the 4th day, he'd totally won over Leila. He treats her like his surrogate mum, and she seems fine with that, and although she doesn't like it when he tries to suckle, she's never mean to him.

(This is Leila, BTW)

Clio remained a bit stand-offish, and does still hiss at him when he sneaks up behind her unawares, but I have seen her join in a game or two with him recently so I think they'll be alright before I leave for the States next week.
(No picture of Clio, as she wouldn't sit still)

How's his hearing?

Fine -- his ears move whenever there's n unexpected noise, and he knows to listen for his name so as not to miss his dindins, but other than that...typical male behaviour, as you say.

Good luck on the kittie drive. No woman should ever be without her cat for long, I always say.

Oh, pretty moggie! Love the way they tuck their paws under like that. My cat was black, too. I miss him.

Glad to hear Manasse has least won one of them over - it sounds like Clio won't be far behind.

It's funny -- when I brought him home, I thought Leila would be the one to object fiercest...but now that I've thought about it, of course she wouldn't: she's the undisputed #1 Cat of the household, and very secure in the knowledge that I love her to bits. She saved me, after all.

Clio, OTOH, has always been a bit unsure of herself, and shy. I got her through a pet shop when she was 12 weeks old, so I have no clear picture of her early history. But she's coming out of her shell now, so I'm really proud of her, too.

Awwwwwwwwwwww...so, so cute!!!
May. 26th, 2004 04:39 am (UTC)
Aw, G, he is absolutely adorable! I love those last two pictures. It is indeed so cute about how big kittens' ears are, on their little bodies! My two guys are almost 10 now, and I can still remember them when they were small like this. *going off to cuddle them up*
May. 26th, 2004 08:38 am (UTC)
I love those last two pictures

That penultimate one remind you of someone? Look at that cheekbone...?
May. 27th, 2004 06:14 am (UTC)
LOL! Yeah, I do see the resemblance with the cheek bones! That's a hoot!

I love Leila's picture as well. My best cat was Max, who was all black, and I had him for almost 17 years. He died 10 years ago, and I still miss him *sniff* I got Scout and Bandit not too long after losing Max, and his companion cat Alex - she was only 9 when she died, but it was within a month of Max passing away. It was a very sad time for me, I remember.

Don't have pictures of any of them uploaded - I'll see about bring some to MR next week. I'll be seeing you one week from today! Squee!!!

He's one lovely kitten. Your Leila looks just like my Andy.

Hope you have a wonderful time on your trip!
