My pictures came back!

...and some aren't even half bad! Here's a selection of the pictures I took while visiting with calove recently:

This is Bodiam Castle. We picknicked here and watched 'Sir Rhys' and his trusted squire 'Peter' give a lesson in swordplay. After which, the children made me clamber all over the (much-restored) ruins.

Knebworth? That's an original medieval structure obliterated by 19th and early 20th century demolishings and alterations, isn't it? At least, the name of Lutyens springs to mind...(sorry, the architectural historian in me just rears its ugly pedantic head. Just ignore it).

Hee. I was more Lady Jane Grey - but close!

Actually, if you visit Hever Castle, it's all Anne Boleyn -- or Ann Bullen, as she was born. Seems she's done a Hyacinth 'Bouquet' on her name, tut tut! Upstart!

I can't say I blame her.

(Damn. I knew if I mentioned Knebworth, then I be proved wrong! Still what is there at the moment is too recent)

Exactly! So you weren't wrong at all!
