Good news

I felt so energized after today's visit to the physiotherapist, that I decided to take a detour into town instead of going straight home. Lucky I did, because I bumped into an old friend on his lunchbreak, who when I explained that I was interested in buying a computer, gave me some good advice and tried to sell me on an Apple MacIntosh. Not completely convinced I want one yet, I'm going to go round and see the thing in action at his place tomorrow...and he's proved himself willing to upload my CoRo pictures then, too!

You're contemplating a Mac and you work for HP? Have you gone crazy? It's the leg, isn't it? It's affected your ability to think logically.

Mac's are evil - pretty, but evil. We had a machine at school that was dedicated to making the production of any teaching materials/newsletters/PR stuff a nightmare. All the staff had access to PCs, running Win95 and then Win98. The Mac spoke a different language - it's from the planet Tharg. totkat_org scolded my inability to adapt. It's intuitive she tells me.

A decade ago at Leicester University, we did everything on Macs. I only learned to work with PCs after my return to The Netherlands...but I think I've gone off the idea of buying one. Sure, they may be beautiful and offer a more stable environment, but they're also quite expensive and not as versatile. So no, I'm going with a PC...as calove said, I can always install a hw firewall.

BTW, hp does have Macs, too...
